PWs Great Beginnings

I know I mentioned this on Twitter & Facebook, but it’s just so freaking cool I couldn’t help but post it here as well.

Last week, Publisher’s Weekly’s Elizabeth Bluemle compiled a list of the Best First Lines from YA fiction coming in 2012. And, of course, ENCHANTED was on the list!!

“My name is Sunday Woodcutter, and I am doomed to a happy life.”

(Trivia: This first line differs slightly from the original “Sunday” novelette’s first line, which was “My name is Sunday Woodcutter, and I am ungrateful.”)

Amazon has a decent chunk of the first chapter of ENCHANTED excerpted on their site: click on over here to read it!

Congratulations, Alethea! How thrilling for you! And I did hop over (pun intended) 🙂 to Amazon to read your excerpt–it’s fabulous! I’m looking forward to May when I can read more!

YES!! Truth cannot be indefinitely obscured, and it is true that you are an excellent writer worthy of much praise. PW has finally come around to acknowledge this. 🙂 🙂
