(This one’s for the horror fans.)
Today is not just the first of October (it rarely ever is), but it also marks the launch of Maelstrom — a new line from specialty press Thunderstorm Books.
In honor of smashing the champagne, they have a one day only offer of three very special books: Brian Keene’s The Rising: Deliverance and A Gathering of Crows (a novel with a bonus story and a novella that won’t be reprinted for five years), and my dear friend Kelli Owen’s debut novel Six Days. They are being published as signed, limited-edition hardcovers.
Now I’m going to answer the question you’re all asking: yes. You can only get this set of books together, not separately. The cost of the set is $125 (plus a modest shipping fee). That may seem like a tall order, but if you’re familiar with the specialty press market, you know how fast these puppies go and how sought-after these limited editions can be…long after they’re gone.
Maelstrom expects the book set to sell out its allotted 250 run today. But all orders today only will be honored, which means if they get orders for 283 today, they will print 283, but no more.
It’s a really interesting, one-of-a-kind sort of offer. If you’d like to learn more (or just check out Russ Dickerson‘s cool covers), click on over to the Maelstrom site and check it out!
Edited to add: Kelli’s also got a contest going on her website–after you order the set, click here, leave a comment, and you’re entered to win a copy of her unedited manuscript. It’s just that easy!
