HERO Cover Reveal, Take Two

Like you guys, I loved the cover for HERO. Loved it. Here is is again. The dragons are my favorite part:

Hero Final Cover

As far as we were all concerned, this was the final cover. It is the cover of the ARC (or so I’ve been told). And then yesterday, my awesometastic editor emailed to tell me that a Professional Calligrapher (sweet job, right?) put her hand to gussying up the border around the title to make it a bit…romantic. To match Enchanted.

Here’s what it looks like now:

HERO revised-revised

GORGEOUS, right? Look closely. The dragons are still there. I really wasn’t sure I could love this cover more. And yet, I do. I didn’t realize there was something missing until I saw this.

It looks especially good next to Enchanted.

Of course, now that I’ve made about 1000 postcards and magnets and banners and, yes, even an iPhone 4 case, I should probably be a little annoyed. For something so lovely, it’s really tough to stay mad.

So if you have any of that promotional material — you now have limited edition items. BONUS SWAG!

As for that iPhone 4 case…I think perhaps I’ll add it to one of the Goodreads Giveaways, since those went over so well last year with Enchanted. What do you guys think?

“Original Sin” op-ed in Clarkesworld

In what I hope will begin a series of Princess Alethea Ranting About Fairy Tales, Clarkesworld Magazine indulged me by publishing my essay “Original Sin” about the dubious origins of fairy tales and their influence on the children of the twenty-first century generation.

Also, this was a heck of a lot of fun. 🙂

Interview Up at The Writers Voice

Enchanted by Alethea KontisThere are authors who don’t like interview questions. I suppose that, someday, I might get sick of them too. Maybe I’ve just always liked essay questions–maybe I just love talking about myself (and my books!).

The best part about doing interviews is when questions come along that are just REALLY FUN TO ANSWER.

I have to say, Emma’s questions for me for my Writer’s Voice Interview today were just that awesome. It was tough to pick a few from her list, but there are only so many hours in the day, you know?

Click here to head over to the Writers Voice website and check out the fun!
