MoA&A Interview #17: Adrianne Wood

Hello, everyone! Welcome to July, and the Month of Artist and Author Interviews here on the website!

Today’s interview features my dear friend Adrianne Wood, who has had a very long and arduous road in publishing. I’m very proud to say will finally join me in the ranks of Traditionally Published Novelists when her mass market romance novel, Badlands Bride, releases from Simon & Schuster this Thanksgiving. Hooray! *throws confetti*

“Worlds collide when a wealthy heiress meets a journalist with writer’s block in this steamy Western romance set in the Colorado badlands.”  Oh, yeah. How perfect a setting is that?? I seriously can’t wait to read this one.

Congratulations, Adrianne, and welcome to the madness! (Please pass the tea.)

gray and rainy is perfect (which is why living in Seattle is perfect).

Set your current playlist/musical device to “shuffle all” and hit PLAY. What’s the first song that comes up?
[hangs head] I’ve never had an iPod, and I listen to music only in the car. I’m way out of touch with music these days. I do have a special place in my heart for “I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred.

If you could win any award, which would it be?
Some kind of “goofy mom” award. I would never win best mom, but I might have a shot at goofy.

Treat your younger brother better. He’s going to be 6’4″ someday and know how to fix your computer.

What’s your favorite constellation?
Orion, because I can usually find it.

What’s your favorite fairy tale?
Petronella. The princess decides to leave her palace to seek her fortune, finds a prince in need of rescue from an enchanter, and then starts to wonder if she’s trying to rescue the wrong man. Great story.

What thing are you most proud of?
Most recently, dancing to “Baby’s Got Back” with my company’s president at the holiday party. We were both secretly horrified but tried to put a good game face on.

The Colin Harvey Memorial Question: Name 3 things on your List of Things to Do Before You Die.
Go sailing in the Virgin Islands, go to Italy as frequently as possible, and try to enjoy every day as much as I can.
