It’s All About You

The November issue of Apex Magazine is live, including the latest Beauty & Dynamite entry entitled: "I Bet You Think This Essay’s About You."

A great artist is an artist who has their own distinct voice. Their “certain something” stands out from the crowd. Certain aficionados can glance at a painting and tell a Renoir from a Picasso or a Van Gogh; they can listen to a stanza and tell Handel from Mozart or Chopin. One of my recent essays was referred to as self-indulgent crap. I could not have been more flattered. Hallelujah, I thought, I’ve finally arrived.

Read the rest of the essay here. And be sure to leave a comment telling me how totally full of crap I am!

I am also a total picture-stealer.
You have been warned.

    Readers read because…

Readers read to leave their own mundane existence for a while, to live someone else’s life for a while however tragic or fantastic that life may be.

I read on the off chance that Eric James Stone’s secret vulnerability might be revealed somewhere in the annals of literature.

Let me give you a hint– it’s not in the ‘Malleus Maleficarum.’

Nor is it in ANY of Margaret Atwood’s books.

Of course not! It’s in that interview I had with Edmund Schubert. 🙂

Something about penguins, right? But I happen to know that Eric falsified that information, because you know why?

His MOM is a penguin. Weird, huh?

That guy has issues, let me tell you.
